In my opinion the Russian society wants to see Zhenya defending Jana like a real man. The Russians can say better, of course. And every woman in such a situation would like to have a man beside her like Zhenya. I think if Zhenya has not exposed his position, the people would ask what he is doing, why he doesn't appear to tell his opinion.
I just think this kind of "fight" shouldn't be happening in public in the first place, for the sake of the children. The public will blame everyone get involved.
