Plyushchenko can return to amateur sports
This decision was taken during the meeting of Evgeny Plyushchenko and his trainer Alexey Mishin with the General Director and President of the Figure Skating Federation of Russia at the Fifth event of ISU figure skating Grand Prix series. The exact timing of the "skate master" return has not been specified yet as Evgeny Plyushchenko has not been able to participate in the competitions organized by the International Skating Union (ISU) since the end of June of this year.

The parties have arrived at this agreement after the frank appeal of the Olympic champion to the public: "Now, when the Olympic passions in my soul have slightly – believe me, only slightly –settled, I see, I realize that I had succumbed to invading emotions. Among the originators of my defeat I saw not only the judges, but also people who had been helping me for so many years, at many stages of my long career, even very close ones. I mean the long-term President of our Federation, Valentin Piseev, some other people from our Federation. If they have apprehended some of my words painfully, I would like to ask them to forget all that erratic chaff said under the influence of the moment and renew our association".
